politics and tomatoes

POLITICS AND TOMATOES
i was glad that hillary clinton read my blog yesterday
although
the attacks will be continued on her until the election in 2016
and
you can be assured that the democrats will be doing the
same to jeb bush as things ramp up

i am sure it will all get disturbing and tiring to listen to
in fact
i just click off the news when they start attacking each other

have you ever clicked from one news program to the next
and
heard different democrats all saying the same words and phrases
as
the different republicans are saying just the opposite

thats called staying on message

they think we all are stupid i guess

it is disturbing to me
that letter the senators sent to iran
circumventing negotiations with them on the nuclear treaty

this should be disturbing to you
whether you are a democrat republican or independent
there seems to be erosion going on in the brains
of our congressmen

then
to a better topic
in this area
it is time to be looking at your tomatoes to plant
do it now
but be careful and watch for that freeze that will come
before it finally warms up
cover them up with row cover or blankets or sheets
when that happens

here are my tomatoes im planting
i only plant 10 tomatoes each year since thats all the space
i allow in my garden
ok so i always seem to have a plant or two left over
so i just stick it somewhere there is an open spot
plus
thats just the right amount for us to eat and freeze for
pesto and cooking

celebrity-always does well
early girl-an early producer
cherokee purple-a heirloom that does well here
arkansas traveler-not because im from arkansas
but because it is a heirloom and does well in our heat
tycoon-good producer thats disease resistant
      a texas star rated one
juliette-produces and produces small fruit until it freeze in the fall
sweet 100-ditto
then my self seeded one called glacier thats probably not going to
do well here
i also want to report that my tomatoes survived
temperatures down to 19 degrees using the candles and
covering the bed with layers of row covers

it doesnt hurt to try new things
