enchanted

ENCHANTED
that was our weekend
it started with going out with a friend to
a local restaurant which also has an
outdoor venue for a band

they are known for the best chicken fried steak around
however i have their mac and cheese
which is the best ive eaten

then
on saturday i worked with a group of kids
from a local church who helped immensely with
doing the landscape at the habitat for humanity house
we are trying to finish up

i must say these guys were one of the hardest working
groups that ive worked with
again
it sure gives me hope for our future knowing that
kids like these are out there
and
will be the leaders in the future
our doctors lawyers teachers preachers etc
here are some of their names

then
today is my wife she and is anniversary
number 41 it is
so
we restarted an old tradition we had for awhile
of going to a state park we havent been to before
like big bend or palo duro canyon or south padre to name
a few

this time we chose one close to home
called enchanted rock
here is the official website for it

we met up with a ranger and got a tour
a 3 hour walk and tour to the top of the rock
being able to see for miles and miles
of the hill country
elevated we were above the surrounding terrain
a peaceful mesmerizing view
on top there were these small oasis on the
top of that granite enchanted rock
looked like a landscaper perfectly planted it all
there
she was called mother nature
perfect lines and perfect spacing of the plants
no extra watering or maintenance required
just what mother nature provides
at the top we poised for our portrait
as we rested on the rocks peak
then
we headed down and around the rock
with ranger chris
slowly since we stopped and discussed the
terrain and the plants
identifying as many as possible
im always looking for new plants and new ideas
that only nature can provide
then on our way out of there
this natural sign at the entrance
was much more appreciated then when we entered it
four hours earlier
this is how we felt as we drove away

an anniversary tradition we plan to continue
