dear ms b-we are getting ready

DEAR MS B-WE ARE GETTING READY

now ms b
we are getting ready for your first visit to the
country n
i know you were here before
but
you were just a baby

well
you didnt get a chance to really see things
to interact with the environment

so
heres what we want you to do while you are here

for several years we hosted a party here at the country n
for the clinic employees and their families and the doctors
i worked with

i think the kids had the most fun
sometimes it seemed the things they enjoyed the most
was well not expected

eg
my neighbor cut down some large cedar trees on his
property
he was going to burn them
i said to him
can i have that large cedar tree trunk
so
i hauled it to our place using a large rope
and chain
i put in on the turn around in our driveway underneath
a big ole pecan tree
so its shady there
i trimmed the limbs
cut a flat spot to sit down
the limbs are for climbing

well those kiddos
they climbed all over that old cedar trunk
like it was a play area at a park

i am sure ms b that you will have the skills to climb
all over that thing
its in the picture below under the tree
the other thing they really liked
verified by other kiddos who have visited here
is riding either in my lap so they could steer
or
on the trailer i pull behind
my john deere lawn mower

more more they always say
then i guess most enjoyed activity though
is going down to the river
along the way we at least when you come
will see waves of blue bonnets
interact with the neighbors horses who love coming up
to visit with us as we go down the path to the river
we usually take our dogs with us
they love the river
love to swim in it
lay in it
roam around the banks

the kiddos
they love the river
wading
splashing
throwing rocks
throwing sticks watching then float down the river
catching minnows
catching frogs
ok
they get muddy and wet
but they are a tired but happy group when they return

ms b
now we probably wont make you walk all the way
its about a 10 min walk there
but
im sure you will have fun

now i know you love dogs and walking around
so
gma will take you on our walking path with our dogs
its a winding 1 mile walk in our pastures
you may see deer quail doves lots of other birds
heck maybe even a snake or two
you will wonder by our chickens squawking in their coop
waiting to get out for the day
walking around and through all my rainwater tanks
giant looking they will be to you
then seeing lots and lots of wildflowers

i have saved some space in the garden
for you to plant a tomato or pepper
yes ill let you dig in it too
if
you eat the dirt
i wont ever tell anyone
we will let you every day
feed the chickens
maybe hold them
harvest the eggs
you can even name one chick chick if you want

im sure there are other things i am not thinking about
that will activate your interest

then
we are generating a list of things for a two year old
inquisitive kiddo to do in the austin area
away from the country n

like
the childrens museum
maybe a farm somewhere
maybe a swim in barton springs
a natural gardener trip to see the goats and chickens

does anyone reading this today have any suggestions
for things to do for her age group

we dont want her to get bored
