We also generally just get one order and split it since the portions are usually enough for two. Our biggest cost savings is simply not going out to eat. Of course, there's only one or two restaurants within 20 minutes of our house. That helps resist the temptation. We started ordering Green Chef organic meal delivery. Although it seems pricey at first, we've found it has reduced our grocery bill by nearly 2/3's, because there is no waste. And we repurpose the containers and shipping material to organize our nails, screws, etc and the rest into compost. The meals are also enough for dinner and lunch leftovers the following day. Oh, we're big on water conservation too...simply turning off the water while brushing teeth and when we can during a shower. We don't water a lawn and any plants are on a timed drip system, but we try to plant only indigenous plants, so it's only necessary to water them when first planted. Our herbs are on a planter that only has to be filled with water once every 10 days or so. I love those planters...even on wheels so we can move them easily when it freezes. You guys are the best at water collection, but we're striving toward that too. We also conserve a lot on electricity bills with great insulation and ensuring windows and doors are sealed and caulked well. That's more than I thought! Not bad!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08812681176067534509noreply@blogger.com
