stay the course

STAY THE COURSE
thats my advice to everyone
just stay the course
slow down
take a deep breath
just stay the course
Typewriter with special buttons, stay the course - stock photo

that could apply eg to the longhorn football team
i think they are doing what needs to be done
they have a real young team
just stay the course
its going to be a rough year
heres hoping the administration will do the same
and
the fans

stay the course could be applied to politics as well
hillary
just stay the course
the republicans arent going to let up
you really dont have any competition in the democratic party
just stay the course
that said
dont make no mistakes that can be used in the election
one year from now

then on the other side
marco and jeb
just stay the course
dont try to become trump or carson
just stay the course
trump and carson are getting chewed up some in the media
they both will probably make some guffaw that will
take them down a few notches
then
it will be a rubio bush fight at the end
just stay the course

now my cowboys
they just need to stay the course
until romo and all the other injured players are back
hopefully the hole thats being dug doesnt get too deep
just stay the course
but a win would be nice

just stay the course
is hard to do nowadays with facebook tweeter 24/7 news
the flow of the story can wane a lot from day to day
sometimes i think it would be good for folks
to just turn off their electronic devices for a day or two

i know we have done it before on vacations away from
all those devices
its sort of refreshing to do without them

now i will admit i like to keep up with the news sports
friends unfriends
but
it does make it hard

to stay the course

so if you feel yourself wondering way off course
why dont you try
unplugging all your devices
and
enjoy the moments
and
stay the course

alzheimers news-my essence

ALZHEIMERS NEWS-MY ESSENCE
over the last 5 years since my diagnosis i have been
interviewed multiple times by newspapers and television
and radio reporters
but last week i was interviewed by a reporter from the
above newspaper

here is the link to their website
the article will be available online soon
its now available in paper form at local businesses
and at their office

when i got home i told my wife she
that was one of the best interviews ive had of all
that ive had done

the reporter seemed to know what questions to ask
she when i read the newspaper article
caught
my essence

maybe at my funeral one day
hopefully years from now
someone will read that article aloud to all who attend

this my friends i want them to say
is the essence of
the organicgreen doctor

he did good

for others

special thanks to ka for setting this all up

today i do another alzheimers talk in a town nearby
called burnet
it is to the local state agri extention clubs annual meeting
there will about 50+ folks attending today

i like doing these talks
like in the above article
i talk about how i was diagnosed
my family history my personal history
what testing should be done for memory loss
what new testing is available now and will be available soon
what a person can do to maybe slow things down
what new treatment studies are going on
what links for more information
then the best part
i answer questions from the audience to hopefully give them
answers they are not finding elsewhere

yes
thats my essence alright

here are some slides from my presentation for you
and those who attended it today

those above the question marked tests are the ones
that most need to have to have a complete memory loss workup
those who havent had those may not have had a complete
evaluation

these things above may slow down the development
of memory loss
some think in some cases they may even prevent
memory loss
you should be doing all this anyway
all your life
i attribute my improvement to doing all of these
aggressively
and
taking my aricept (donepezil)

these are treatment studies that are ongoing now
they are looking for study subjects
the top three are on folks who have no symptoms
the colombian study is on a family with the dominant alzheimers gene
who have no symptoms
all three are using one of the new alzheimers vaccine
the sniff study is using nasal insulin
the bace inhibitor is a pill that inhibits an enzyme that
produces the bad beta amyloid

folks they are looking for volunteers
go to www.alz.org  or click this link

the www.alz.org is the best website for finding out information
for patients families caregivers or medical providers
the texas capital website is the local chapters
they can provide a lot of information for whats available
locally
the clinical best practices is about what workup and treatment
is available
its from the texas health department website
the last is the research center where i go
which by the way is where i will be week from today

country n news-2 tools 2 have

COUNTRY N NEWS-2 TOOLS 2 HAVE
here at the country n there are 2 tools to have
that have multiple uses

now i have one of these tools that has everything on it
i keep it on my tool belt when i work at the
williamson county habitat for humanity
however
its not on the top two list

the other day i was watching the central texas gardener
on klru
they said hes going to talk about the one tool to have
in your garden
i thought if thats that good im gonna go buy one today
well
it was this thang here
yes its the 5 gallon bucket
here its used to cover up the plant when the weather gets cold
other uses
-i drill holes on the bottom and on the sides set it by my plant
or bury in by the plant then fill it with water to water the plant
worked great this year for my tomatoes even in the hot summer sun
-hauling much or hauling compost
-a trash container in my garden
-to haul water to plants that need to be watered
sometimes i add the liquid johns recipe to fertilize the plants down deep
-one is used to hold all my tools to carry around where they are needed
-works great to plant a tomato or pepper in so its easily moved around
-i flip one over and sit on it when im working in my garden
-yes ive used one as a step stool before
be careful with this one though
-i use it as miniature wheelbarrow
-i recently used it to haul stuff on the roof to work on some cover sets
for my ac units lines
-its used to haul feed and chicken scraps to the chickens
-its used to collect produce in especially when we harvest
peaches plums and potatoes and tomatoes
-i use them to catch water off my ac units which i then pour on
the surrounding plants
-ive used them several times as a scooper or shovel to pick up
rocks gravel or dirt
-etc etc etc

so this 5 gallon is the number one tool to have for your garden

then the number two tool to have is
yes you guessed it
the roll of duct tape
a must have tool

ive written about duct tape a lot
even have a duct tape book a patient gave me
ive used that tape so much

recently i lent my large wheelbarrow to habitat for humanity
it was used to haul rocks
when i got it back it looked like this
now ive had this wheelbarrow a long long time
its held together with a different variety of bolts that dont match
baling wire
so i dont want to part with it
so of course my solution to repair it was to do this

long live my blue wheelbarrow
duct tape saves the day

so when you are shopping for garden tools
be sure and make sure you have these two necessary tools

the 5 gallon bucket
a roll of duct tape
