in case you havent looked at your ticket this morning
the winning number was
5-23-16-22-29 powerball 6

if you live in arizona and missouri i would recommend you
look at your ticket
if you live somewhere else just recycle the paper

the odds of winning was 1 in 175 million
flip a coin 27 times and get heads every time
thats the same odds

so i flipped the coin 27 times and got 13 heads and
14 tails

those are real steep odds but
we bought a lottery ticket anyway
why not right for 2 bucks its worth a try

so my wife she picked the numbers some way
her chances and her method was as good as everyone else
but those two winners
they won and we all lost

however it was fun though just doing it
will do it again if it gets high

you know i didnt win because theres no way i would be
sitting her writing this blog if i had won

well theres always the next one right

GAS
this is not a medically related topic
its for those of you in states with high prices for gas
like california or new york

this weekend i filled my wife shes gas tank with gas
and photographed the price

i had felt like i had won the lottery as i filled up the tank
in her little car
just wish that her tank held more gas

so this is a slight consolation price for not winning the powerball

solar cooker, cheap gas, duct tape

SOLAR COOKER
here is a photo of a solar cooker



my rainwater brother-the one that i infected with the
rainwater virus-use a solar cooker similar to this to
cook food
he bought his made of cardboard for $25
its the ones that are sent to 3rd world countries so they
can be used to cook food there
many of those countries have plenty of sunshine
but have no electricity

he uses a dark broiler placed inside a plastic bag
like an oven bag and leaves it out in the sun
eg he cooks soups and beans
the pot gets up to 325 degrees
no electricity is used

the energy from the sun reflects on the food and energizes
the particles in the food which cook it
beans were good
soup was good
wonder if itll cook a good hamburger

i plan on purchasing the cheaper one then get a better one
if it works well for me
think maybe he just infected me

CHEAP GAS
when we visit california we are always amazed at how
expensive gas is there
makes you not want to drive much there

recently here there was a sighting of gas < $3.00
below is a photo of that sign

sure wanted to drive there just to get that cheap gas
but didnt since it was 50 miles away
would have made for a great picture though

 

its been a while since its been this cheap

DUCT TAPE
its been awhile since ive posted duct tape stuff

so to fight those pesky flies
you know the ones that are to fast for the folded up newspaper
or magazine or new fly swatter
the ones that land on you nose when you try to sleep
how many times has that nose been swatted while sleeping
the ones that wont just go away
dont they just die eventually anyway
think we have super flies at our house

you can hang a strip of duct tape and extend it from something
like a window frame or ceiling
the flies just have to land on that sticky side
then they are done for
try it

its here everywhere now  in texas
texas is known for its oil production and cheap prices for gas
not any more
the price has hit $3.00+ and seems to be climbing
the $3.00 mark is a mental mark here in texas
most people didnt think it would ever hit here
but it did

lets see reasons given are
the middle east unrest
oil shale oil is backed up way up north as there is not enough
pipeline to get it down here to the refineries
the oil being used is an expensive oil from ?north sea and is $20
more a gallon

the end result is that we are all paying more each time we fill
up our tank-if we can afford it

i know those elsewhere say dont whine weve been there a long time
in los angeles there is already $4.00 a gallon gas and one major
oil company leader is predicting $5.00 a gallon gas by this summer

glad have my two vehicles that get 40 miles per gallon
guess ill just coast down the hills from here and town
and drive real slow or you can
use cruise control on long straight aways as it keeps a steady
speed which saves gas
keep your car tuned up well
car pool
ride the bus or train
walk
ride bike
plan trips to do multiple tasks
dont gun the motor it may cost your $0.50 each time you do it (hahaha)
ease into start up
try going the speed limit (also will save on speeding tickets)
keep the tire pressures normal
or dont go if dont need to

as the price gets higher then the more little things you do can save money

my wife she commutes about 60 miles a day for 20 days a month
at 40 miles a gallon thats 30 gallons of gas a month
at $3.00 thats $90
at $4.00 thats $120
at $5.00 thats $150

at 30 miles a gallon thats 40 gallons of gas a month
at $3.00 thats $120
at $4.00 thats $160
at $5.00 thats $200

if buying a new car or used ones (the financially smart thing to do is
a used one ) would recommend that you look close at the miles per
gallon the new vehicle gets

dont think things will get better
