our healthcare system is not going to work
if we have one party ram through a program without
the other

although i like the start that obamacare gave us
protecting millions of us from financial ruin
it was rammed down the republicans throats
when the democrats had total power in the late 1990s

that left a bad taste in the republicans mouth
a real bitter one that helped to lose the democrats
any control of the government

what goes around comes around

then the republicans did the
gotcha thing
tried to ram a new plan down the democrats throat
how do you like the taste they said
but
well
politics it seems makes strange bedfellows
the freedom caucus who wanted to wipe out a lot the gains
that were made to protect our health
which most of us dont want to lose
they sort of teamed with the democrats
whom they probably dont agree with on anything
to defeat the attempt at trump ryan care

like a republican senator said at one of those rowdy
back home meetings recently
we just need to back up
take a deep deep breath
pause for a while
get the democrats and the republicans who can work together
to come up with a bipartisan health system
no
they want agree on everything
but
what comes out of it will be mutually agreed on

my suggestion
5 moderate republicans and 5 moderate democrats
with no majority for either party

the plan will probably be a better one
that we can all accept

if we dont
we wont have a workable plan

it will just get changed again with the democrats get power again
that
we cant let that keep happening

first let me say i think that there should be a
two option health care plan

one option
is
medicare for all
just add things to it that make it save money
like a tax for the medicare for all if you chose this one
say a 1 % tax that all pay no matter their income
add copays with the  deductibles and co insurance
like regular medicare does now
the copays would be new
make the copays set or make them sliding scale
eg
i dont mind paying a $25 copay to see my primary care provider

start putting controls on services provided that seem a waste of money
like even stricter criteria for mris and other testings
i have had mris and scans not the research ones that didnt
necessarily change my care that much
it would have saved medicare a lot of money

make it harder to prolong folks lives
did you know that 90+% of doctors die at home
while most nondoctors die in the hospital
i think we know something yall dont

then
allow nurse practitioners or physician assistants to operate
independently
they dont get paid as much as doctors do
let them be independent but keep the pay down to the level
so that they make the same income they do now
but
also then cut the doctors reimbursement to the nurse practitioner level
make it mandatory that all providers take this medicare for all

i personally see a competent neurology nurse practitioner and have
no problem doing it

there are other ways
to get more costs down
like
change how we allow our drugs to cost us so much

look closer at foreign countries like sweden and canada
and england to see how they hold their costs down
then
we need to do those things that they do thats good

then
option two
private insurance
that you obtain yourself or via your employer
set some standards they all must meet
then
put them out in the private market

i recently bought my medicare supplement
it was fairly easy and straightforward
almost too easy
i was worried i was doing something wrong
or
i was missing some loop hole
nope
it just worked fairly smoothly

i think that what will happen over time is that the
medicare for all will gradually take over
if its kept simple and straightforward and efficient
as medicare is now

maybe allow for medicare for all supplements to be sold
like they are now with the regular medicare

i told someone the other day
im calling our new insurance plan the congress is coming
up with
ryanobamatrump care

they
smiled and said
oh you mean

THE DIRTY SIX
this morning i was going to write about
two dirty words
if you hear a politician say them
vouchers and privatization

loosers
they dont mean well for us the medicare aged group
and
future medicare recipients
uh thats all of you
its going to cost us a lot of money out of our pockets

winners
drug companies insurance companies lobbyists
no swamp draining going on here

all i can say about these dirty two words
is
dont let them do it

it has nothing to do with which political party you support
if we arent careful we will end up like those folks below
sick

what caught my eye this morning
was a report that 3 folks died and several was sickened from
eating a thanksgiving meal at a veterans hall in san francisco
a charity meal that gave a little too much to the eaters

then
i ran across this from the consumer guru
clark howard

there is a lawyer that has made his living over the years
on food poisoning cases
to the tune of 600 million dollars+

so he generated a list of 6 foods he wont eat
since they have generated most of his income over the years

here they are

now first let me say
my wife she is the queen of leftovers
i have to keep a close eye on our frig
looking for growths on our food that could be used
to make an antibiotic
like penicillin mold
once i ate it and cured my strep throat

many a time over the years i have found
deep back in the frig
some unidentifiable substance in a container
oh i say
wasnt that the leftovers from thanksgiving
its now the ides of march time

sorry sweetie

here are the ones the lawyer will not eat

1   rare meat
uncooked meat can yield e coli or salmonella
also parasites

2   raw oysters
not a problem for me i wont eat them
it seems global warming has caused the oceans to be warmer
yielding more bacteria and viruses in the oyster
plus there is more sewage in the water

3   raw sprouts
there have many outbreaks from these mostly e  coli and salmonella

4   precut prewashed veggies and fruits
the more folks that handle these the higher risk of contamination
avoid them
remember the prewashed organic spinach contamination a few years
ago that made so many sick
if you buy prewash just pretend it says
you just gotta wash em good

5   unpasteurized milk and juices
these thing are pasteurized for a reason
thats not an issue with me since i dont ever drink either of these

6   uncooked eggs
can you say cookie dough
even sunny side up eggs
well that used to be my favorite not anymore
results
salmonella

now i am sure some of you will poo-poo
no pun intended
this list
but
remember this guy has made millions and millions of dollars
off these infections
he knows
he wont eat any of these

so i went back over the list
i dont think ill get sick from these
since
i dont eat raw meat or raw oysters
i dont eat precut veggies or foods
besides the risk of contamination they cost a lot more to buy
i dont eat raw sprouts
i dont drink milk or juices
i dont eat uncooked eggs

the only thing i have to worry about
keep an eye out for
is
my wife shes refrigerator stews

there are these words
that when you see them spoken by
politicians
you had better run for cover

i mean us the common folks

it doesnt matter
if you are democratic or republican or independent or whatever
if you are one of us common folks
you are about to lose

so this week i have been seeing one of these words
being bantered about
whenever i hear it or read it
i get this chill up and down my spine
i shiver and shake all over
i reach into my pocket
grab my billfold real tight
as
i know the attack is coming
the attack
on me
and
us the common folks
on our
billfolds

so the word i hearing is
its so hard for me to write this
ill do it backwards
makes me feel better

it is

for the purpose of this bog today
lets just call it the p word
no
not that one

so i am hearing from the politicians
lets p word medicare and social security

ok you heard the p word
who is going to lose
yep
us common folks

who will win
when they p word medicare and social security
lets see
for medicare that would be
insurance companies absolutely drug companies
probably lawyers to cover all
the common folks medical bills bankruptcies

now
i pay close to $450 a month for my medicare a and b
my medicare supplement f
my cheaper medicare part d

so i have my medical bills well covered
my medicare deductibles are covered
my copays are covered
my immunizations are covered
my labs and xrays are covered
as long as i and my doctor follow the rules

plus i know if i have a non approved service
im stuck with that bill
eg
if i have the amyvid pet scan for the bad beta amyloid
its a non covered service
so out comes my checkbook to pay for it

otherwise
what i have covers my care
except for my drugs
since i am all on generic drugs
i chose a higher copay deductible drug plan
to protect me if i get put on a real costly drug
like
when i stuck that dang agave thorn in my eye
ate that deductible right up in one day
or
if when the new alzheimers drug comes out one day
i will be able to use my drug plan to help with
some of the costs then

if you p word medicare
that will change
deductibles
high ones
copays
uncovered services
denials denials for care
remember now some drug company some insurance company
has to make a big profit
yes a big profit
off
us the common folks

now to social security
we
the common folks
so many of us depend on social security to survive
many
of us common folks
depend on social security for most of our funds when we retire
some
of us common folks
thats all we have

so who will gain if they p word the social security
think about it
yep
you got it
bankers investment companies wall street
im sure lawyers since they always seem to win

oh
dont forget those politicians that can line their
coffers with those lobbying donations from those
folks above
they all do it both democrats and republicans

now
i have paid 50 years into social security
i would hate to think that money was controlled by those
folks who are all for
p wording social security

i can only compare it to the school teachers
well now they the teachers always seem to get screwed in the deals

many eg here in texas lose most of their social security
eg
my wife she would make more money when she retires
if she had never ever gone into teaching
from her social security
yes she has paid in her share so have i
normally if she hadnt worked
she would get half mine since its more than what she has paid
in herself
then when i die she would get all mine
now she gets very little of it

then
at the schools they have 403 b plans and 457 plans
supposedly so teachers can add to them to cover the
social security gap
now luckily for her we were in a financial position to
dump money into those to compensate for the loss
of her social security that she paid for and i paid
for with our social security taxes for 50 years

now the choices in these 403 b plans and 457 plans
some are real real bad choices
the ones that win on these are the same ones who
will win if they pword social security
now luckily for her i knew enough to weed through
and find ones that were ok
most dont do that or cant do it

i always get sick at my stomach when i go to the benefits
meetings and hear those pitches from those who sell those
products
well
it like listening to politicians when they sell the pword idea
for
social security and medicare
i get that same sick feeling in my stomach

why
when a politician stands up to announce
they want to p word medicare and social security
why
do they always smile

well
i think we all know why
right

my warning
whether you voted for hillary or donald or whomever
dont let them do it
since
you and i
thats the common folks
are
well
we are about to get screwed like the what has happened to the
teachers

OBAMACARE YEAR 2
its interesting if people are asked
do you like obamacare
they say no

if asked
do you like the affordable care act
they say yes

excuse me they are they same

could we just call it something like
the
american healthcare insurance plan

for those of you in these two red states
kentucky and arkansas
and
if your income level is low enough
then you are lucky to live in these two states
why
you get a private insurance plan instead of a
medicaid plan
we all know which of these you get better care from

these two states are an example of what could happen
if the democrats and republicans would really work
together to compromise on an issue

however if you are in that income level in texas
you are simply screwed
you cant get medicaid
you make too less yes thats right you make too less
to qualify for subsidies
you get screwed
in texas
we are number one in not providing health care to folks
leading the nation with 25%+_ in uninsured folks
and
that number will climb if the supreme court votes
against subsidies to those who qualify


now for me
i am
on medicare
a medicare supplement plan with bcbs
a medicare d plan for my drugs with bcbs
it costs me about $300 a month
i am quite pleased with the coverage
its ease of use
its website
why dont they run the healthcare.gov website
i think that all providers and hospitals should be
required to accept assignment
no opting out
then give us all a chance to get medicare
medicare for all

recently i got a shingles shot
now my drug plan covers the shingles shot
but
it has a deductible equal to the cost of the shot
so when i got it at my provider i knew i would
have to pay for it
$250+ but i figured it was worth it
i have seen too many old folks get shingles
and
then dwindled away from the severe pain
i watched my wife get it on her face with the marked
tooth pain jaw pain facial pain as the nerves got
inflamed
she got her shingle shot later as she dont want
that pain again
just a side bar for getting the shingles shot sorry

now last year i helped folks in 5 different states decide
what american healthcare insurance plan to get
arkansas texas utah california colorado

so i revisited the sites again
the hardest to navigate was the texas site as it had so
many choices
and
many of them were bad choices

i found a blue cross blue shield policy ppo that was similar
to what you could buy on the private market and had
the same providers also
eg if you use the austin regional clinic for your care
then this is a good one for you to choose

some of the plans had very restrictive providers
well one in particular didnt have many specialist on the list

the other i looked at was the scott and white health plan
an hmo plan in an organization known for providing
overall quality care
much like the kaiser permanente in california


the best site to use was the california website
covered california
they make it so easy
maybe they could run the federal site
remember if you qualify for subsidies you need to pick
a silver plan


there are so many people who qualify for subsidies who
dont realize it
eg if you are married with two kids and make $90,000
you qualify for a subsidy
if you can get insurance through an employer you
dont qualify for a subsidy

what i like is that california
rates the insurance companies like medicare d does
eg where my sons live in california
kaiser gets 5 stars
blue shield of california gets 3 stars

they only have 3-4 choices of insurance companies

i also noted on all the sites that the premiums for the plans
i recommended to folks last year really didnt change much

so
in summary
remember if you dont qualify for a subsidy you can either
buy your insurance through the exchanges
or
go to a private companies website and buy it yourself

one policy a friend bought last year was actually cheaper
on the exchange as on the private website

weed out the bad guys
its hard if you dont know they are bad
watch out for names of companies you have never heard of
and hmo or pos or epo
unless the hmo is like scott and whites or kaiser permanente
or mayo clinic

they do make it hard to sort through the options though
they need to standardize things like they do with medicare d plans
or medicare supplement policies
they all have to be the same really
they are star rated
i chose blue cross because i wanted all mine ran through the same
company
and
bcbs has a good reputation in the state

so
we just need it to be like medicare
with just one choice medicare
and
not the medicare disadvantage plans
then choose a supplement plan
then chose a drug plan
oh lets just put them all together so we have
just one choice
the american healthcare insurance plan

then you have a better plan than most of you have now
and
most of you get on the exchanges
and
via private sources

yes lets start calling it the american healthcare insurance plan
ahip

this word care seems to be used a lot when its applied
to our health
theres obamacare healthcare.gov medicare
i think really it seems that our politicians dont care
about our health

i think back over the last year maybe last two years about
all the effort that was put into making our health care system
not work
what would have happened if that effort was channeled in
the other direction to develop a system that really worked

if we had one that worked we wouldnt have the worst statistics
for health care among industrialized countries
almost third world numbers in some categories
and
definitely third world numbers in some areas of the usa

we have the potential for the best health care system
we just allocate it so unevenly

ive worked with and through many of these care systems or dont care
systems this year

i started the year on a good health policy from my wife shes work
a good policy that spiked well it doubled in price this year
so i searched the obamacare policies and found
an equivalent one for about $200 a month less

i also helped several people from 4 different states to research
and find themselves a good health care policy
all found a policy that was cheaper than their previous
some were getting brand new policies

the care site that i used that worked the easiest was californias
in fact the person took just a few minutes to sign up using his
smartphone

another using the texas site which is healthcare.gov found a
policy for her teenage daughter that was $100 cheaper a month
with the same or better coverage

i think about texas a lot
we have such a bad record of health no care in our state
this state has worked so hard to make this not work
what if they had channeled that effort into a system to make
our health no care better

i was at a larger healthcare systems event yesterday
i looked at the massive building and saw all those patients
coming and going
and thought i bet these guys are big supporters of the
new healthcare law
since they are losing millions and millions each year from
being not paid for uninsured care

this year my long term disability company got involved with
my care
in the fine print it says you will file for social security disability
or lose your benefits
then they hired a lawyer to make sure i won my case
there was no benefit to me personally to do all of this
as it would cost me money if i won
so
they filed they appealed they won

so on social security disability i go which goes directly to them
with that also you get put on medicare a and b
whether you want it or not
you get it you pay for it each month
so
i started looking around
$850 a month for my private insurance with my wife she
$104 a month for my medicare a and b
that $954 a month for health care

so i checked out the next letter dealing with medicare
thats c which is the medicare advantage plans
i call them the disadvantage plans
you really have to watch and check each one closely
some are good and some are not
remember the feds are starting to defund these disadvantage plans
a little each year

no c for me i decided

then theres the d
thats medicare prescription plan
so i looked at all my drugs and put them into the plan
they actually pay better than my wife shes insurance
eg 90 days for $0 vs $30 for a  generic drug
that one looks good
i picked a value plan for $42 a month

then theres the medigap plans
that picks up most of what medicare a and b doesnt cover
no letter is attached to them
price $147 a month

so i added up the medicare price
a and b   $104
medigap $147
d            $42
total $293 a month
subtract $850 for my wife shes policy
equals $557 a month savings on just my health care policies

then thats $20,000 saved over the next three years
wonder what i can do with that money

what ive found over the last year
is dealing with social security and medicare and the medigap insurance
company has been so easy and efficient
there is not all these complicated choices that had to be made like
with the obamacare care policies

the effect im sorry to say is the political influence of lobbyists
for insurance companies drug companies health systems
and
worst of all
the discord that exists in washington
and in some of our state governments eg texas

my solution for all of this
after spending hours dealing with this this year
hours on the obamacare sites
listening to stories from family friends expatients and people i
dont know

we need a medicare for all
one system for all of us
you sign up
price adjusted maybe for age
the same rules that exist now on medicare
dont listen to doctors who whine about medicare
its all about the money
there wouldnt be this mass confusion that exists now
you pick this one policy
called medicare
you want to practice medicine in the  us you take  medicare
until this happens our system isnt going to work

bump up the medicare tax some and increase it all the way to the
top of the income bracket
remember the system is paying for this anyway
just in hundreds of different programs both private and public

we have a system that works
let just use it for everyone

no to obamacare

NO TO OBAMACARE

no i havent changed my mind on obamacare
im still a big supporter of it
although i think we should be on a single payer system
which would overall save us money as a country

we would all be working under the same rules
costs could be better contained
and all our care would be equal
no cadillac plans for the richest of us

im saying no to obamacare
because it appears in february or march i will be on medicare
since my social security disability will likely be approved

this was a requirement on my long term disability policy
to file for social security disability
along with that comes the automatic signup for medicare

so if the claim is won i will be on the same single payer system
that many americans are on

i will buy a supplement to cover the parts that medicare doesnt
cover
these are not available with the obamacare policies or even those
policies bought in the private world

i could stay on my wife shes blue cross policy but would be paying
$850+ a month to do that along with my medicare
so for the same coverage of medicare at $100+ a month and the
best supplement blue cross of $275 a month for health coverage
and drug coverage
i will be saving close to $600 a month for health insurance

sorry obamacare

ive spent a lot of time researching the obamacare policies for some
friends myself and one of my sons
what ive found is the policies if you pick the right ones
are just as good as the ones they have now or in some cases are
even cheaper

if i dont get the claim i will chose between my wifes shes policy
and an obamacare policy a gold one that is almost the same
as hers at the same price
i probably will stay on her  policy since i would have to switch
off both of them in a year anyway
so why change for 1 year
note the providers are the same on both policies

when you look at these policies be sure and look at the provider
list to make sure your providers are on the list and you hospitals
are on the list also

also some of the companies offered in texas eg do not have a
good reputation among patients and providers
and some have restrictive provider lists
just eg like the medicare advantage plans do or
some of the hmos do

my son has a chance to get a policy from the company he
is associated with but its $100+ a month more
an obamacare policy with the same company blue cross with the
same provider lists but with a slight increase in out of pocket expenses
its a silver plan
will cost him $100+ a  month less
so his cost will be the same as he is paying now for a good policy that
is grandfathered which means it doesnt have the protections like the
obamacare policies do
this policy will go away in 2015

so im recommending he get the silver blue cross ppo based on his age
and the fact he hasnt used his insurance much in the 8 years he has had it

you have to take you situation your age your health care usage and what
you can afford to make the right chose for yourself and your family

dont listen to the news about any of this
think for yourself
take advantage of this opportunity to get good quality insurance

another friend is buying insurance for her 18 year old daughter through
blue cross
she could get it through her work but its cheaper to buy it herself through
blue cross
shes done this for several years

looking at the obamacare exchanges she can get a similar policy
for $100 less a month
and may actually qualify for a subsidy also
again this says a lot for what we dont pay our teachers

so folks dont be afraid to check it out
the website is working
ive been able to use it from the beginning
i do have a cookie blocker that blocks it on google chrome so i
have to use internet explorer

in summary
i support obamacare
i probably will be on medicare and a blue cross supplement since thats
whats best for my situation

my son will probably get a silver blue cross ppo plan through obamacare

this friend can save money by getting an obamacare policy for her daughter

you have 6 months to figure this all out

what if the republicans and democrats had put some of their energy
into making this health reform law better instead of spending so
much time and energy fighting about it
and
in the republicans case
spending so much time and money putting up roadblocks which
then affect you and i no matter our political beliefs
millions are being left without coverage in several states

to cover its citizens

THATS OVER WITH
when i switched or redirected this blog some almost
three years ago when i was diagnosed with
mild cognitive impairment amnestic type ie short term
memory loss
i wanted to write about everything that happens to me in
relationship to this diagnosis

part of the journey is the business or money side of this
story

when i was working i had a long term disability policy that
lucky for me was paid for with after tax dollars so that
when the insurance claim was paid out the monies paid would
not be taxable
what this means for me is that im paid equal to what i was
making until im 66 years old

many people dont have these policies so they have to depend
on social security disability for their income replacement
which can be good but it will not usually replace the income
that was lost

you have to be disabled for 2 years before you get paid
sometimes the system for some people takes longer to work
so that they may go 2-3 years without any money

for them this can be a financial disaster
especially if their initial filing is denied and they have to
go through a hearing to get an administrative judge to make
a decision on their claim

some diseases are treated on a fast track plan so that if the
diagnosis is firm and advanced some they only wait 2-3 months
before they get on social security disability and also medicare

one of these diseases is alzheimers disease
thanks to the alzheimers associations lobbying efforts

so what does this have to do with me
im not officially diagnosed with alzheimers disease although i
probably am in the early early early stages of the disease

when i had to retire i pulled out my long term disability policy
and read it
you know the small print stuff
there it was
you must apply for social security disability in order to continue
to receive your private disability insurance checks

why
i dont need my social security checks until i reach 66 when this
policy coverage ends
too bad
you have to file
so i did
it was denied
but
sorry we hire a lawyer for you and you appeal it
so i did

so after 3 years since i quit work
yesterday i had to go before an administrative law judge
with a lawyer
a nice guy by the way as was the judge
both spouted out numbers like code 789.10 exemption
what the heck that meant i didnt know and actually didnt care
since i have little or nothing to gain from all of this

the insurance company if the case is won on appeal gets my
social security check each month until i reach the age of 66
of course i get multiple times that each month from them until
that time
then at age 66 my insurance disability check goes away and i
then start getting my social security checks monthly

i really feel sorry for those people who dont have private disability
insurance and would have waited
for those 3 years to get their first checks

you yes you reading this blog should check out your disability
insurance status
never thought i would ever have needed it
but am glad i had it in place when i did need it

the only good thing that comes of this is that when the decision
is made i will be on medicare
and sad to say wont be able to get the obamacare  policy that
i had spent time researching
i will just add a supplemental policy to the medicare for better
coverage

the attorney said after the hearing that he thought from knowing
the judge and the process that my social security disability claim
will probably be approved

during the last 3 years there are times not many when i get this
melancholic feeling that people must feel when they get depressed

yesterday during the hearing when i was being questioned
and had to talk about how i was diagnosed and how ive done
since then
this melancholic feeling almost like a flush you women would
call it a hot flash hit me
but like a flush or hot flash it passed and i went on

its this feeling i dont want to have during this period of my life
staying busy talking freely about it volunteering reading writing
makes i think a big difference in keeping
that melancholic fog at bay

now that this hearing is over
as i had to put a lot of  time into it although i wouldnt gain much
from it
welll i guess i would have lost my disability checks each month
if i hadnt gone along with all this

its over
im ready to move on

could we just debate whats important in this upcoming
election
and not talk about all that superfluous stuff that keeps
showing up on tv and the papers and the internet

i know mitt should not have put that dog on the
top of his car but that doesnt matter
yes obama is a us citizen
could we leave that out of the discussion
all that stuff doesnt matter

we watched a show this weekend that included two
conservative republicans one a congressman who is
on one of the defense committees
two liberal democrats and
a good ole british commentator from bbc
those british they see it and tell it like it is
thats the way we should be

the war what war oh yeah we are fighting in afghanistan
1000 killed in the first 8 years and then 1000 killed in
the last two years
all 7 said we need to get out of there and be done with it
it is a no win situation
all 7 agreed we needed to have gone in in the beginning but
we lost our way when we went into iraq
the afghan people always win
thats why its not being talked about much in this election

all 7 agreed that religion should be left out of the discussion
mitts a morman ryans a catholic obamas a christian
(no hes not a muslem) and joe is a catholic


here is what needs to be discussed and all this other stuff
left alone

medicare-all agreed it needs fixin
how is where the disagreement is

a lot of the money they are talking about that 700 billion is
dealing with the medicare advantage programs or the
disadvantage program if you are not in the money making
part of the plan
when i hear vouchers for medicare all i think of is the
medicare d plans for the prescriptions when they came
out a few years ago
even i a practicing doctor who keeps up with all of this
couldnt interpret those plans
doubt that the voucher system would be better

social security-they better leave that intact if they want
to get reelected
dont privatize it either
but some adjustments need to be made
but dont make it so that we cant get our social security
until we die
and feds keep your hands off that money we put in the
system from our taxes

health care-there are going to be a lot of mad people
if the health care law gets canceled
there is too much protection for all of us in this law

makes up more than 50% of the population
and will be the group that determines this election
dont mess with issues that were settled years ago

the economy
both sides need to present their plan for how they plan
to fix our economy

most important issue in this election
could we please talk only about these important things

the upcoming debates between romney and obama
may be what determines the next election
hope they are well moderated and no goof ball
questions or answers are allowed

this election is coming down to 11%  of the voters
most of us have already decided how to vote

DONT MESS WITH...

i hate this every 4 year cycle of political ads

they now are getting nastier and nastier

and we have 3 months to go

i personally dont listen to them

either sides ads

what they need to focus on are just a few things

that are really important to all americans

state their views so we can decide

one thing they dont want to mess with is 

medicare

social security

can you say florida electoral votes

if you are not on it now your parents probably are

and you will be on there sooner than you realize

its a safety net system for retirement and health care

that keeps elderly from severe severe poverty

when i hear privatize thats always a code word for

some rich folks are going to make a lot of money 

and we are going to get screwed

do these programs need changes and adjustments

absolutely 

but they need to be retained

something needs to be done to keep congresss hands off

the social security funds just like we do with our 401ks

you dont withdraw 401k funds too early and you dont

borrow from them either

they are part of the safety net we have now for retirement

as only 30% of us have pensions now

yep dont mess with medicare and social security 

just fine tune them and keep your greedy political hands

off the funding

SKEETERS

when i was a child i remember chasing after those fogging 

machines as they came through the town in the late afternoon

spraying for mosquitoes

it was fun running through that fog and smelling that smell

of course the stuff was toxic and is now off the market

wonder if that causes alzheimers

once in my preorganic days i would spray malathion on a tree

to kill fruit flies

i felt real dizzy and fuzzy headed for awhile then it cleared up

thats the stuff they spray on fruit flies sometimes

even though its off the market now

now its only available as a prescription lice treatment for kids

some things just arent right and thats one of them

do wonder what dallas is spraying over the city to kill those

mosquitoes

and what long term effects it may have

do notice that i cant find out which chemicals they are spraying

hopefully it doesnt have the word agent in its name

PLAYHOUSE

the habitat still is auctioning off its playhouse in october

heres the information on it

 

this playhouse was built by some of the group from
the habitat for humanity where i usually volunteer

this playhouse is available for a $5 raffle ticket that
you can buy by going online at

the funds from this raffle will be used on the next
habitat house that will be built in leander texas

the playhouse will be on display at various sites
recently it spent a few days at the dell diamond
but will be displayed throughout the area until
the october 12 deadline
