its time tonight for the two presidential candidates
to get er done
this is it
its the super bowl night of the presidential election
whoever wins this debate tonight
if they do it decidedly like romney did the last one
will probably win the election since it
appears things are too close to call

actually this is exciting for presidential politics
it seems more and more people are interested in this
years election than in years past
which is good for our american political system

(wonder if the gridlock will continue no matter who wins)
(probably)

the last debate next week wont matter as much as this one does
the people get to ask these questions
the moderator is well respected and more than
likely wont let anyone take control like romney did last time
and will ask some good followup questions and
will hold the two candidates feet to the fire
to answer the question

you know how they do it
they get asked about health care and they answer the question
like it was about a foreign policy question
both sides do it

this debate is like a super bowl between a spread no huddle offensive
team with no defense against a running team which depends on
its defense to win games
(without of course all those interesting commercials)

the two candidates are from opposite spectrums
and their parties offer contrasting solutions to our problems

the debate wont sway me to change my mind or in fact
most americans who vote
remember if you dont vote you have no right to complain
about anything

lets get er done get this game going tonight

the super bowl of the political season is a game to watch

MONEY

it is obscene the way the money is flowing into these super pacs
which is having an influence on the presidential election and other
races
there is no control over how much is donated and in some cases
who donated and how much is not available
thank you supreme court for screwing all of us

this is the first billion dollar election
thats how much money is being spent this time
shoot thats enough to buy the dallas cowboys franchise

it is scary that some outside source lets say china or some
rich person could pour millions and millions of dollars into the
election and determine who gets elected

heck china already owns wall street
could they own the presidency too

you know that money is not given without strings attached

at least in the past we knew who the big money donors were
and could tell where the influence was

this is probably one of the biggest threats to our election
process ever ever

and it apparently cant be changed without a constitutional
amendment

a new twist to the old saying that money does the talking

we probably should be more upset over the super pacs
influence on this election than anything else thats happening

twinkies may be gone
the hostess company is over $800,000 in debt and is filing for
bankruptcy
they cant stop making those
ive not had a fried twinkie yet
thought i would eat one after i had my cholesterol checked so
i could recover before the next cholesterol check

maybe they could make a deal with mcdonalds to sell them with
the quarter pounder that i wrote about recently
what a filling meal that would be huh

i dont eat twinkies now but just knowing they are there is important
thats almost as american as moms apple pie

support hostess buy a twinkie today

he matched the money donated by a congressman to pay down the
national debt
he will be writing a check for $49,000 as representative rigell from va
donates 15% of his congressional salary to the national debt
any other takers anyone anyone

myth 47% of americans dont pay taxes
fact all americans pay taxes

myth american people and corporations pay high taxes
fact the us has the third lowest taxes of any developed country
in the world

myth cutting taxes creates jobs and raises revenue
fact tax cuts reduce revenue and are not associated with
economic growth
never thought this made sense to me

myth our tax system is progressive because wealthy individuals
pay a disproportionate amount of taxes
fact at a time of income inequality the us tax system is flat
the top 1% are making more and paying fewer taxes

myth the fair tax or flat tax would be fair
fact it would make our tax system even more regressive
the bottom 20% would pay more and the top 1% would pay less
the middle class where most of us are would be hit the hardest

this is from the daily share which has a liberal bent to its articles
but i think most of this above are facts that are true

the prevailing theme of this and everything else thats happening
right now in the economy is that the middle class is getting
screwed and the top 1% are not

our chance to make a change is coming up this fall when we
have elections of the candidates who are picked by the super pacs
who may not be favoring the middle class

it almost makes you not want to vote doesnt it
but its a right i dont want to give up

where is that third party candidate and wheres the occupiers
when we need them

think ill take a prozac generic of course
or
ill just go for a walk with my dogs down to the river
and contemplate all this
