thank goodness its over
thats what all the kids in america will say this morning
when they turn on pbs to watch big bird on tv
like millions of kids have done for years
(why did mitt have to say that and scare all those kids)

really im glad its over
now i can friend some of my facebook friends
however when i looked at facebook this morning
i may need to reblock a few folks

yes karl rowe obama won
fox news tried to convince you last night
but you wouldnt listen

we the american people have spoken
that how our system works


one of the happest folks are those people who live in ohio
no political ads
no robo calls and other calls
i was with someone in a meeting yesterday from ohio
she has an ohio phone number
she got over 20 phone calls yesterday asking her to be sure
and vote

i hope the republican party will take time and look at itself
in the mirror and see why they lost
one thing they will notice is that everyone in that mirror is white
and mostly male
surely they must realize there needs to be movement to the
more moderate views of their party
ive alway told everyone if the republican party will do that
they probably will never lose an election

if mitt had won and he remained the moderate mitt
he would probably had been an eight year president
he would have done a good job as president

america is changing
we all need to accept this and start working together

you can not alienated women
all of us men know that
you make them mad and youll pay for it

the meeting i was at had some republican women who
opposed their partys stand on social issues related to womens
health and womens rights

you also cant alienate people of color
the hispanic and asian populations have increased over 40%
over the last several years

those things important to them can and may have swung this election

yes we all have to change
whether you won or lost this year

i sure hope now as we approach that cliff
that congress and the president can work together to
fix what needs fixing to keep us from falling off the clift

POST DEBATE IMPRESSIONS
its always interesting to see what comes out of a debate

apparently there is a group of women called walmart moms
not sure who they are but they thought obama won

i conjure up visions of those pictures of women from
facebook and social media who are morbidly obese and have
those skin tight almost see through pants on
makes me queasy just thinking of the visual

apparently the walmart moms have replaced the target moms
and the soccer moms
guess because of the economy women cant afford to go to
target and cant send their kids to soccer so they can only
afford to go to walmart

hope im wrong on that visual

then mitt said according to something thats gone viral on social
media that he got a binder of women when he got to be governor
to the victor the spoils

i know thats not what he meant but its what he said
and social media loved it

i think that next time or next election they need a timer that
goes off at the 2 minute mark that is loud and annoying and then
a real annoying sound gets louder and louder the longer they talk
you know like on the radio when the announcer wont go to
commercial so they play music that gets louder and louder until
you cant hear them

also the moderator needs to have a handheld buzzer that if they
wont shut up she just pushes a button and a zapper on a
shock collar zaps them util they shut up
like the ones on dogs for barking or going outside a perimeter

bet on the first debate mitt would have just kept on going anyway
and obama wouldnt have ever been shocked
mitt had too much red bull and caffeine for that first debate

or what would be better would  be to put them in their suits
with real big old boxing gloves and head protectors inside
a large cage dropped over the stage
with no rules and just let them go over it
like a good ole tomcats fight
who ever is left standing wins the debate

seriously though
this debate was a good one
none of them will ever be perfect
the democrats think obama won
the republicans think mitt won
the general consensus across several news media sites is that
obama had a slight edge over romney

my impression of the debate is the same

now we have 3 weeks left
wish the debates were over now
and the election would be determined by what the campaigners
do over that time period

i sure am glad that i dont live in a swing state since
we dont have to deal with all those political commercials
since the outcome here in texas is pretty definite

i did run across this article this morning from the nytimes that
is about how the campaigns both of them are monitoring
us the voters on the internet
we thought it was just big brother and google and facebook

almost makes you want to give up googling facebooking twitting
and whatevering we all do

WONDER DRUG

theres this wonder drug that does all these great things
it may even help cure cancer heart disease and alzheimers

SHOW ME THE MONEY

i think that mitt romney should show me the money
not because i think hes hiding anything because he
probably isnt hiding anything illegal
just embarrassing
how much money he made and what write offs he
took for tax purposes

i dont have a problem with him making as much money
as he can
heck we all do that
i have a problem with the tax deductions and tax rates
that we will find on his returns

20 million dollars and paying 13% tax rate
my best year while in practice i had a 28% tax rate
i wouldnt have minded keeping that extra $25,000 a year
in taxes i paid

he pays $20,000,000 x .13 = $2,600,000
thats a lot of taxes but not really a fair share when you consider
he pays the same rate as a single school teacher or a secretary

if he paid my rate he would pay $5,600,000
to me that seems fair
i would think that would seem fair to most people who pay
taxes on a much lower income at a higher rate than mitt does

now i dont begrudge mitt making money
he should pay a fair tax rate like we do
remember he didnt break laws or do anything illegal
heck i even use the tax loop laws to save income tax

but the problem i have is the way our income tax laws are
set up to allow someone who makes that amount of money
to pay a less tax rate than a new teacher
doesnt seem right does it

that trickle down theory is just bs
dont seen any of it trickling down to most of us

i dont really care if he releases his tax returns from the past
he made his money
but im glad that what he has shown us shows how the tax
system is set up to benefit the rich in this country
the middle class will be given the burden to support the country
with its higher tax rate on us

yes republicans and democrats
this all needs to be changed
this is what we should be talking about from both parties and
demanding they change things

its just not right

its sad that representative akin is still leading in the polls
after the remark he made about a raped woman not
getting pregnant
even the republicans are asking him to step down
if he stays and gets elected its a real low point in our
political system

women war, primary

WOMEN WAR
why is there this war on womens health
i find it disturbing
this contraception issue i thought was settled years ago

first there are more women than men in the us
and as people age the women to men ration gets higher
so if you are a politician you sure dont wont to tick off
the women

these are issues that transcend politics religion wealth social status
well thats not quite true since the poor are affected the most

i practiced medicine for 30 years and almost all my catholic patients
used contraception
well i got their insurance to pay for it because they used it for
menses control or dysmenorrhea painful periods and not for
birth control wink wink

why this attack on women and womens health
rush is finding out thats not a good thing
those women will go after you
granted he was very inappropriate
bet he doesnt get any for a long time now
hes lost a lot of sponsors
they are hitting him in the pocket book where it has its
greatest effect

contraception prevents pregnancy
which prevents unwanted pregnancy
which prevents abortions

are we becoming a contraception third world country
sure seems we are

many of my patients utilized heath clinics and the family planning
clinics for their womens health care as it was cheaper for them to
get it there
they got their breast exams pelvic exams pap smears mammograms
and their prescriptions through these clinics

the years i practiced i did have women have abortions
a tough decision for them to make
none ever used a family planning clinic for this
but used it for their female care

now the funding is being jerked for these clinics
especially in texas
we already lead the nation in teenage pregnancies
things will not get better
were number one but its not football
dont be proud of that

women war
ive been married over 30+ years
i know when not to p%$$ my wife off
or ill pay for it big time

the politicians are p%$$ing women off
they will pay for it this fall in the elections
dont mess with women

PRIMARY
mitt just cant get that knockout punch he needs to make
the other candidates quit running
well ron pauls not going to quit

mitt is going to be wore out before he gets to the
real presidential race
obama is loving this im sure since hes not spending any money
and the republican candidates are beating each other up

as soon as mitt can get enough delagates then hell
probably turn back to his moderate side where he needs
to be if he is going to won

saw a picture on facebook of the romney kids with large letters
on their shirts
they were to line up in a row with ms romney with an r on her shirt
to spell his name ROMNEY
the o and the m got out of place
as they lined up

that is probably one of his biggest problems in this election

FLEXES
have continued the campaign to beat the flexes
those flex accounts that will try their best to keep your money
its your money not theirs
but they dont act that way sometimes

it was my money not theirs but they tried their best to keep it

one person i helped had over $3600 dollars they had tied up
in disputed claims
try to talk to a knowledgeable person on the phone
they dont exists
there is not someone who you can talk to that will help you

sir we need the documentation in order to pay

through a lot of effort by this person and myself we finally got
the documentation we needed and found a lot of less known
deductions you could take but we finally got things where
she will not loose all her money

and we were not even talking to someone from india or pakistan

he hasnt released his numbers yet as
he made so little money last year hes embarrassed to release his returns
at least hes honest-wished the other politicians could be like him

RAIN
the problem with rain in central texas is that we either dont get any rain
or we get it in bunches all at once
like tonight
cant wait to see how much rain we have and are getting

i am still only 50% full on all my tanks so i want all the rain i
can capture for my rainwater system
before each rain i adjust my system to maximize my rain collection
all roofs collect rainwater-garage, well house, bbq area, barn, and
even my arbour and of course my house
i also put out all my 5 gallon buckets
and do i have a collection ive accumulated over the years

this collecting rain water takes a lot of effort
but its always worth it when you take a shower or
wash your hair or wash your clothes or take a nice
cold drink of pure water out of the tap

POTATO EXPERIMENT

this little girl did a simple experiment for some school project
its simple but shows what is going on in our food chain

if you wonder why people want to go totally organic then
this simple experiment shows why

i grow all my vegetables organically using compost most of which
i make myself
no chemicals in my compost

if this stuff does this to a potato what does it do to a growing
child

she went out and bought 3 potatoes
one from the grocery store
one from an organic store
one form an organic farmers market

her results speak for themselves

MITTS TAXES
mitt romney paid $6.25 million in taxes on $42.5 million
over 2010 and 2011
his tax rates were 13.9 and 15.4 %

my tax rate over those 2 years was 28 %
eg on $100,00 thats $28,000 in taxes

if i was mitt that would be $13,900 and $15,400
i could find good use of that extra $15,000 couldnt you

if he paid my tax rate he would have paid $11.9 million in taxes

no wonder THEY dont want to change the tax code but want
it to be cut more

theres those 1% again
