i did it anyway

I DID IT ANYWAY

yesterday in the misty rain i got out and drove to
the rural polling place where we usually vote in the
national elections
not a good sign that there was only one car there
and no signs anywhere
so
luckily someone drove up and said
hey yall
you need to go to the library
theres a lot of libraries within 25 miles of there
but we all knew what they meant
so
to the library i went
in this little town of i guess 1500 maybe
this season youll see the old train station there in
the tv show revolution
Bertram Library/Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library
into the library i went
had to show my id to vote with my picture on it
you know the law that got passed so the poor and
the underprivileged will have a problem obtaining one
and is really designed like the old poll tax to prevent
them from voting
since they usually vote the same way those people

i know the republicans did all this
they are in power in this state so they write the rules
redid all those districts
however the democrats arent blameless
they did the same thing when they were in power
and would probably do it again if they could
dont you just hate politics and politicians

i went into vote showed my id signed in
reread how to run the voting machine
read the ballot

i did all that driving for this
6 amendments to the constitution
seems if you are going to amend the constitution it should be a
real real important right
they seemed like they shouldnt even be on the ballot to me
just someone decide these and get on with it
the one i really wanted to vote on was the water amendment
where they take money from the rainy day fund to
pay for water projects
seems funny to me
water money from the rainy day fund

i voted for it but didnt really feel good about it
you know like if your party you like puts up a bad candidate
but you just cant make yourself vote for the other party
so you go ahead and vote for the bad one
well
thats how i felt yesterday
i know theres going to be corruption involved
and theres those who will make a killing off this new
water amendment
too too much money was thrown into the campaign
to get this thing passed
and
no mention was really made for water conservation
and land conservation
hope they dont dam up the river by our house
then
mr christie won by a good margin in new jersey
dear republican party
you need to pay close attention
to this election if you want to win the presidency back
problem is
governor christie may have problems winning the nomination

we need more candidates like him for sure
in both parties

the other big vote was the governorship of virginia
it appears the democrat won there
the republican ran against obamacare
it didnt work

the republicans have a problem with young folks
blacks and hispanics and women except for mr christie
if they dont fix this they arent going to win national elections

im glad i voted even though there wasnt much to vote for
but
i dont ever want to lose that right
