MARY JANE HOW YOUVE CHANGED
this is the best honey 😉
recently i was visiting an acquaintance who is a gardener
and
wanted my advice on some of his garden issues
now he has a nice system he uses for his garden
he makes his own worm compost
well the worms do all the work
by his recycling food scraps to the worms
inside he has a dark room from his old photography day
he has grow lights
he starts all his veggies from seeds
you know what else i grow
what i said
cannabis
he is a retired professional with a neurological disease
he raises it for his own use
as he was showing me his harvest in his baggies
i looked around suspiciously
listening for sirens
thinking
man he better be careful
he gonna get busted if he gets turned in
to the man
then
i remembered
its all legal here in california
you can grow 6 plants
only one can be grown outside
thus
the inside darkroom with grow lights
i guess its like a tomato
it tastes better if you grow it yourself
pluck it off the vine
eat it fresh
buying at the store isnt quite the same
so
i guess it is with
mary jane
ie reefer grass pot weed herb cannabis or mj
it must be better if you grow it yourself
its all fresh
it just is better i guess if its yours
i thought about all this a lot after seeing his garden set up
so
i decided to try the mary jane again for sleep
getting some from medical dispensaries that is for sleep
the dose is on the side of the box
1-5 at night 1-2 hours before bedtime
if you are a regular mj user you take 5 it says
if not if you are a novice
take 1-2
so
i took 1/2 at bedtime last night
since the night before i had a sleepless night
well
man on man
i went on a 6 hour ride
up and over and through and over and under
my dreams
it was like a super aricept dream
those vivid ones i get from aricept
just really accentuated
not violent or scary
just non stop
my brain was still going full speed when i woke up
this morning
in fact it was trying to get out the front door
when i reached out and pulled it back
i slept for 7 hours
but
i sure as hell dont feel like it
i fill sedated like this morning
then
i got to thinking
you know what
i didnt even think about the interaction the mjs
thc and cbd probably had with my aricept (donepezil)
it reminded me of the interaction that the indian herb ashwagandha
had when i took it
it was the most godawful disturbing dream
so violent
that i have ever had
i slept a good 7-8 hours
but
i felt like what happened in my dream was real
it disturbed me for days
again it probably was the interaction of the ashwaghanda with mj
so
my guess is
that interaction with mj and aricpet(donepezil) is what will be
keeping me from using mj for sleep
dang it
just when it got ok to legally use it
i do hope
that our government will allow the research that needs to be
done on this drug
so it can be properly used in medicine
it seems to be useful in some neurological diseases
it may help slow down the progress of alzheimers disease
we know it helps with seizeures
chemo patients use it for nausea and for improving their appetite
this all seems sort of weird surreal in a way
that we can use it here but not say in texas or arkansas or mississippi
but
in the meantime
the law changed here
now the local governments will be getting a lot of tax
revenue from its legal sale
they got
zero revenue before
plus
they had to pay for all those folks getting thrown in jail
costing us taxpayers millions each year
it all seems good to me

welcome to the organic green doctor blog
i am a family physician who was diagnosed with
early mild cognitive impairment(mci) amnestic type on december 21, 2010
this is a precursor to alzheimers disease
because of this diagnosis i have opted to stop practicing medicine
this blog will be about my journey with this disease
please feel free to follow me along this path
i will continue blogging on organic gardening, green living,
solar power, rainwater collection, and healthy living
i will blog on these plus other things noted to be interesting

weed eater
WEED EATER

since it was illegal
i didnt ever consume it during the 60s and 70s
well maybe once i did
i made a decision
since it was illegal
i didnt want to get caught with it
and
have it on my record
my ultimate goal in life
was to be a physician
i didnt want anything to prevent that from happening
so
i said no
to the weed
that was
until 7 years ago
when i got first diagnosed
i would sometimes have a several days run of
sleepless nights
mostly because of my taking the alzheimers drug
aricept (donepezil)
which interferes with my sleep
i wake up too early sometimes
like 3-4 hours too early
like
wide awake too early
if i do this several days in a row
it all interferes with my day to day living
so early on
someone sent me edible weed
to help with the sleep
i tried it
it only made me restless like if i had too much coffee
before bedtime
then
a few years later
i tried a vaped weed
it burned like fire when i inhaled it
it didnt work well at all
now
i know there are hundreds of different weeds
some high in thc
some low in thc
but high in cbd
the thc makes you feel good
the cbd is what shows a lot of promise in neurological diseases
many antiweed states have the cbd weed legalized
its the stuff that seems to help folks who have uncontrollable
seizures
especially kids
so there is a component of weed
that shows promise in treating neurological disases
like
seizures
yes like alzheimers disease
two acquaintances have recently used weed
to control the nausea and appetite suppression
from chemotherapy
it also helped with the anxiety
the research is hard to do
since its rated by the us government
right there beside heroin
now
here in california
it is now legal to grow it
although commercially there are a lot of rules attached
to growing it
its legal to possess a small amount
you can even grow some yourself
now here where we live
they are trying to be slow about getting the permits done
so it will be eventually sold in stores throughout the county
weed is not going away
the governments are about to make a ton of money off its sales
local governments are about to have a financial profitable
industry move in
so
ive decided
im ready to particpate
i look at this stuff like a drug
for me its to assist in sleeping at night
maybe helping slowing down the alzheimers disease some
to
make my life better each day
i dont plan on getting high or use it during the day
just an edible at night
so i can
feel rested the next day
it has to be safer than ambien or halcion or those other sleeping pills
i wont use a smokable
that cant be good for the lungs
just an edible for me
its time
we look at this drug
for its positive benefits
to those of us
with neurological diseases
incurable ones most of them
we
folks
have nothing to lose

its a triple conundrum
ITS A TRIPLE CONUNDRUM

thetwistgossip.com
today is 4/20
its thursday
today is the day i go to the utsouthwestern infusion center
to receive my 2nd infusion of the experimental
alzheimers treatment drug made by biogen called
aducanumab
now
after the last one
i was told i needed to schedule the next one
in 29 days
or
two days before that date or two days after that day
i told the researcher
i want to do it on 4/20
ok
she said
not blinking an eye
we will set it up for you
i said
you know what day that is dont you
she said
i think its a thursday
no i said
its 4/20
thats mj day
marijuana day
willies day
the day we celebrate marijuana
the drug that has ruined many a teenagers life
when they were busted with it
sending them into the armpits of our jail and legal system
but
also
this drug marijuana
it has the possibility of helping those who have neurological diseases
like
ms
als
alzheimers disease
severe migraines
diffucult to control seizures especially in kids
chronic pain
anxiety
chemo nausea
chemo appetite suppression
just to name a few
the problem is
there are so much restrictions on its research
researchers find it hard to get approval to get money for research
on mj
and
they are restricted to use only marijuana grown on some farm
in mississippi thats controlled by the feds
the salk institute
a well respected research institution wants to do research on the
cbd component of marijuana
the part that doesnt make you high
but seems to have a lot of benefit in neurological diseases
especially children with uncontrolled seizures
this institution makes its chd from methane gas
the farts of cows
since
they cant access the marijuana plants needed for research
without a lot of red tape and lots of time it takes to get approval
im sorry this just smells bad to me in more ways than one
so
i turned to the researcher
and said
thats why i want to do my infusion on 4/20
to
give my support to chd marijuana research
so
i am making my stand today
in that support
as i sit down
stick out my arm
they insert that needle
giving me later that infusion of that stuff that might
slow my disease down
all i can think is
what if there is something in that marijuana plant
that could be do the same thing
you just vap it or smoke it or take an edible
seems easier to me
yes
i am stoked day

charlottes web
CHARLOTTES WEB

i never read the book
but
i saw the movie multiple times
it seems this story means more to me now than it use to
sometimes i feel like the spider
knowing whats coming and trying to get myself and others
to be ready when the time comes
now there is another charlottes webb
but its illegal in
most states in the united states
thank goodness for colorado

charlottes webb is a strand of marijuana that has a
low thc level that has a low amount of this active
ingredient in marijuana
its this low level thc that seems to have properties that
may be beneficial to two groups of folks
kids with uncontrollable seizures
not responsive to the other usual legal drugs or to
the electrical stimulation or zapping of seizure centers
in the brain by neurosurgeons

cnn.com
if you have ever seen the videos of these kids
or
if you saw the story on tv i think it was 60 minutes or cnn
of the family from new jersey that had to move to colorado
to legally get the low level thc marijuana oil or cannabis oil
called charlottes webb
to give their kid to help it control the seizures
transporting the oil back to new jersey was illegal
in these kids some of them its the only thing that really helps

news journal
here is an article in a local paper about a couple working to
get it approved here in texas
fat chance that will ever happen
they should plan on moving to the mountain high state
then
theres the other neurological disease that i am so familiar with
as are many of you
alzheimers disease
many people with alzheimers disease develop problems with sleep
i include myself in those who have this issue
this or a similar dosed thc drug may help with that
ive written before about having tried some medical thc but i
think the level was too high
the other thing its used for is the anxiety that most alzheimers
patients develop as things get bad
recent researchers have found there may be an association of the
benzodiazepines and the development of alzheimers in some folks
thats xanax valium klonopin ativan etc
click here to read an article on that
so the benzodiazepines may not be as good to use in alzheimers patients
for anxiety
so
maybe a joint or some cannabis oil may help or a thc pill
they may treat the insomnia and the anxiety and
actually help prevent the progression of alzheimers disease
then
a recent study done in mice who are genetically programmed to
100% of the time to get alzheimers
it seems weird and cruel that they can take the alzheimers gene from
those who are unlucky enough to carry that gene and put it in a
strand of mice
like a gmo mouse is what it is

funnyjunk.com
but they gave these gmo mice these alzheimers mice
thc low dose
what happened
the level of the bad stuff beta amyloid drops in the brain of these rats
thats the bad stuff thats thought to be the culprit in alzheimers disease
then
these mice do better on memory tests after they have been given the
thc compound ie the cannabis oil ie marijuana
now the hope is to extend the research to humans
the problem
the stuff is illegal in most states
research on thc marijuana cannabis oil is tightly regulated
only certain government sites are available to produce it for
research
its expensive
theres not much funding available since you cant really
patent thc or cannibus oil or marijuana
since as we all know its available everywhere
so back to charlottes webb
we have gone amuck here
this over regulation of thc for medical use
we thats the government democrats and republicans have gone
too far to make it illegal for us to use this for
these important diseases
oh what a web we have woven

is it a fix
IS IT A FIX
as a physician its always hard to figure out whether
someone is faking or not when they come in for
pain medicines
some are so obvious they are faking
others are real good at it
real good
when i first started practicing the trend was not to give
out much of that stuff
broken bones post operative pain acute pain from
say an acute ruptured disk etc
it was always a fine balance between helping people with
bad pain and making them an addict or contributing to
an addicts addiction
then the trend was to give more pain meds since state boards
would reprimand you or put you on probation if someone
complained to them and the board deemed it that you
didnt give them enough stuff for the pain
theres not a test you know
sometimes its quite obvious like a broken bone
other times it was not so obvious like back pain and headaches

i always wondered what those red flecks were in that vicodin
now i had a migraine headache once i know that must be what
one feels like
excruciating vise like pain that was unrelenting
mine was from a severe case of iritis where you can get
inflammation that causes the pain
luckily i had a hydrocodone (vicodin) left over from some oral surgery
that yes it took two to relieve the pain
i cant imagine having them frequently the pain not the pill
then i had the acute rupture of the disk in my back
felt like i was having 10 babies or once or a bowel movement
the size of a boulder
i couldnt have made it without the hydrocodone
lots of it
i was able to wean off it and even now when it flares bad
i could see how someone could easily want to continue it
theres pain the more you have the more you need
then
theres the tolerance the more you take the more you need
for it to work

then the dea and boards started go after the docs that wrote
too many prescriptions for pain meds
specialties like neurologists and neurosurgeons and orthopedists
and pain doctors
are big writers of that stuff
write some for me please if that bone is sticking out my leg
many of them got caught in the big crack down on drug
prescribing
a lot of good docs got their reprimands when they were doing what
was right
dammed if you do and dammed if you dont
now the feds have moved the hydrocodone from a class 3 to a class 2
its now in there with morphine
at least its not ranked as bad as marijuana at class 1
means its a bad drug huh that weed
now you can only get a 90 day prescription with no refills
no phone calling it in
you have to see a doctor to get a refill
in some states no nurse practitioner or physician assistant can write it
what does this mean
less pills on the market for resale illegally
less addiction i guess
less pain control for those who really need it
more people moving to heroin for the addiction
its cheaper and probably easier to get
the black market will figure it
i still never understood why it only came with aspirin or acetaminophen
or ibuprofen or cough syrups
its the acetaminophen in there that has caused most of the problems with
liver failure liver damage
so now we will probably create this large number of folks hooked on
heroin
maybe less people will get hooked on drugs to start with
some people with pain arent going to get proper pain treatment
ironically a med commonly used for chronic pain is a class 1 drug
and is illegal in the us and in most states
thats marijuana
many nfl players use it for this reason

smokeycaps.com
my views have evolved over time on this drug issue
we should let more people have them
there should be places like in europe where the addicts can get
what they need
marijuana should be legal
im sure if it were i would be taking it nightly to aid with sleep
and as alzheimers progresses use it for anxiety that can develop
we have filled up the prisons and jails with folks who really arent
criminals
someone is getting rich off all this
drug companies prison companies drug dealers
let put an end to their profits
just sayin

THESE MAY HELP THESE WATCH OUT FOR

research shows that smoking a joint each day by an elderly person
may help
by decreasing the production of beta amyloid
increasing their appetite a real problem as the disease progresses
decreasing anxiety just look how laid back willie and snoop dog are
helping with sleep
instead of toking a joint using edibles would be healthier

then theres this research called the young blood
or the vampire research studies
using young peoples blood on patients with alzhiemers
they seem to have something in their blood that improves memory
if you visit grandma and grandpa when you are younger you
better be careful when the full moon comes out
seriously there is a product in the blood that may be whats
causing this improvement
new studies are starting up soon using this young blood

there are 5 signs to watch for in a family member or friend
if you think something is wrong then something is probably wrong
this is the most important one
that of course most of us ignore way too long
been there done that
problems walking with balance gait or falling
misuse of money credit cards or inability to balance a check book
this sign has financial consequences that bad people take advantage
of
i feel like what these bad people do to these old folks taking
advantage of them should qualify them for the death penalty
driving
we see it all the time on the big signs on the interstate
elderly person cant be found is driving a ........
this one is significant as we as family members always it seems
wait too long
i hope to give up driving earlier than most do
my wife she has been told to take my keys away
anger fear paranoia or erratic behavior
if the person gets mean starts hiding things or starts seeing things
that arent there
hoarding
uh oh my wife she has this problem now
just come over and look at our barn
things like lots of toilet paper toothpaste dressing etc
hoarded are abnormal
my wife she just hoards junk
then ask
what did you eat today
so remember
if there is appears to be something wrong theres something wrong
many families if they could do a do over would recognize this
earlier on and do something earlier
so
watch out for these signs
if you are young donate your blood
if your grandparents toke one every day dont be concerned
