nashville sounds on tarry time

NASHVILLE SOUNDS ON TARRY TIME
i like country western music but i also like classical music
and other popular music
heck i even like some rap music

so one of the spots on our bucket list was
nashville
my motherinlaw loves country music and especially
loves the old country music like merle buck wylon willie
so we deciced to all fly there this last week and weekend
to do the nashville tour and hear the nashville sounds

would say she was the most excited of the three

i have this thang about being on time
i like to get to the airport at least two hours
before the flight leaves
its bode me well in my life time
it allows for unexpected delays

im sure you have friends or families-you know who
you-are that dont seem to carry a watch or have a sense
of time

one of those is my wet suitcase sisterinlaw
i wont use her first name but lets call her 'tarry'
she has what we call 'tarry' time
its not always the time that my watch says
think she doesnt set her timer to the daylight savings time
it seems to always be off

i never let her take me to the airport
i like to be there early
her timer allows her to be the last one to board the plane
and arrive
you know the one that delays the flight as we are all sitting
and waiting for the take off as she is getting processed through

once on an international flight her hubby forgot he had his
swiss army knife in his pocket and yes they were late
and yes they got caught with the knife and yes
the plane was deplaned and baggage was searched and
everyone was pissed at them
(bet that was a long international flight)

yes i understand how they felt
been there done that
ie been on 'tarry' time

this wet suitcase sisterinlaw wanted us to visit
them in nicaragua this summer and wanted me to get
my passport so i could come there
actually she bugged me about it for 2-3 years so
i last year got my passport and she was happy when i
used it to visit them

so last week our plane was leaving at noon time
we were all packed the night before and since
we live 1 hour from the airport i wanted to leave 3 hours
before the flight left
no wet suitcase sisterinlaw experience for me

we got everything in the car
i finished getting dressed and where in the heck is my
billfold
could not find it everywhere
called the place i had last used it and no it wasnt there
that was 2 days ago when i had used it last

since im retired i dont carrry my wallet with me any more
unless im going somewhere
because i get compost garden soil hay and other unwanted
things in it

it was no where to be found
all my credit cards and debit cards were in there
luckily i never carry any cash with me
no social security card in there
no one had a credit card for us to use on our trip
my wife she had $400 dollars
i had just electronically moved most of my cash out of
my credit union account to my other accounts with a
mutual fund company so it was not accessible

i had $700 in my account left
i couldnt access my brokerage account quickly
it usually takes 1-2 days to move money
i did it that way for safety reasons

luckily we had prepaid for all the places we would go
except for our hotel room
we pooled all our money and decided lets go anyway

then wait i cant get on the plane because i dont have any
photo id with me
(guess i couldnt vote in some states)
then i remembered
my passport that my wet suitcase sisterinlaw convinced me
to get
(ok thanks for convincing me to get the passport
that sure hurt to write that)

we dashed to the bank with my passport
cancelled my atm card cancelled my bank credit card then
emptied out my checking account and
off we went to nashville

we made it to the airport 30 minutes before the plane left
thank goodness for the easy accessible austin airport
and the passport
and off we went

so thats what its like to be on 'tarry' time

  2. I am like you - at airport 2 hours ahead. But isn't it wonderful that things always do work out for our "tarry" time friends :)
