dear ms b-its so tiny

i hear folks say this all the time
when i talk about tiny houses

now ms b im not talking about a dollhouse for you

these tiny houses intrigue me
when i look at the size of many of them
they are the size of apartments that some folks
live in
expensive ones if you live in places like eg
san francisco or new york

these tiny houses square footage are the same
as many of these apartments

now this morning
i watched the above video
heres the link
warning its 16 minutes long
but if you are interested in tiny houses you should watch it
if you watch it youll want one

this one
is self sustaining
it has everything
solar for all its electricity with battery storage to be
off the grid

a solar hot water system

all the things we want
well really need in a house

i told my wife she the other day
you know
if we had one of these tiny houses
we would just build an old outhouse
get back to our roots
to save on water and sewage

not sure she smiled though when i told her that one

now when i sit here this morning
thinking about where we have been in our house
what areas we use
its almost 95% kitchen living room bathroom bedroom

so if you chopped off the rest of the house we didnt use
whats left is
a tiny house
i wrote earlier this year
about my great niece and her husband
who did a tiny house that is 600+ square feet
it has all you would want
a small front porch
a living room
a dining room
a kitchen
two baths one a master bath
a master bedroom
a smaller bedroom study
washer dryer area

it does sit on about 10 acres of land

so whats left
what do you really need in your house

i read sometimes how
in the us
our houses have gotten bigger and bigger and bigger
over time
a lot of space
a lot of energy
a lot of wood
paying more taxes
paying more mortgage

where did we go wrong

thank goodness for the tiny house movement

i told my wife she

i want one

yes ms b we would  make room for you
