here comes the sun

HERE COMES THE SUN
each morning i like to sit in the chair in front of the large window that opens on to our porch
it faces almost to the east
the sun will slowly creep over the back of the condos across our courtyard
leaving this azure that pretty blue color in the sky
then
as it peeps over the top of the building you gradually see the larger courtyard with its green grass and shrubs and various flowering plants sort of pop into focus like you would see if you used your light on your camera to take a picture to make it more in focus

as it peeps then pops over the building it floods our dining room living room combo room with this bright light and with this palpable heat that makes you feel like you are in a sauna

a similar experience can be had if i stand in my garden looking up to the mountains in the distance
you can see the sun as it hits the peaks and then slowly moves down the mountains slopes onto the garden
the heat is palpable also

it even seems to activate the birds the chickens the lizards

i like to start my mornings as the sun comes up in one of these two places

we have two places here where we like to see the sunset
one is the butterfly beach in montecito across from the biltmore resort

the above picture was taken recently at that location

this area is where the mudslides came down the mountains and into the sea wiping out things as it went
it destroyed most of the biltmores landscape and flooded its lower floors
it has since been redone and is a beautiful match to the sunset

recently we met mr hs future kidney donor there to see the sunset
she was the one that was the best match
the sun setting among the clouds was beautiful
its always picturesque there

that day it was cloudy but as the sun started to set in the sky the clouds seem to open up to allow the beautiful sunset to be seen again

i think nature knew how important that sunset was that day

recently i saw this video and pictures in the linked article here from the inouye solar telescope
click on the video to watch the suns surface

its fascinating to see this first ever close up picture of the suns surface as it billows up like boiling water
it just seems magically as i watched it
which i did for a long time
over and over again

i was mesmerized and thankful
