i know very few spanish words but i didnt have to know spanish to watch that half time show
yesterday i told my wife she look i dont want to go to a super bowl party
i want to stay home and watch all the commercials and the game and the half time show
all by myself or with just you
well
you dont always get what you want right
having gotten up at 130am the day of the super bowl
spending all morning at the school garden and the community garden
i went home had lunch with my wife she
i said i need a nap
so
thats what i did
i woke up just a few minutes before the singing of america the beautiful
then
i watched the singing of the national anthem by demi lavato
as i watched i thought
she almost killed herself 2 years ago
she would have been gone
but
here she is belting out the national anthem
i like it sung like she sung it loud and without messing with it
i even rewatched it twice later after the game
that itself should be a story
her survival
what emotion she must have had standing there singing to all of us
so
i told my wife she yes ill go to the super bowl party
ill watch the first quarter at home by myself
life is always about compromise right
take the second quarter to get ready to go to the party
arriving
just as the half time show was about to start
oh by the way my wife she said i put in money in the pot for the super bowl raffle thing
i didnt know what i was doing so i just picked spots
then the show started
i swear in the house we were at yes it was mr h and ms b house
when those two jlo and shikara started singing and shaking
the balloons in the house started to move
the windows rattled
at times the lights even would blink off and on
i wonder if that happened all over the us in peoples home
it was interesting
there were 11 adults 3 toddlers 5 dads 5 moms 2 grandmas 1 grandaddy ms b mr h
all locked into the tv
no one was talking just singing and moving to the music
most of us didnt understand what they were saying
some like my two sons that know spanish did
but
it didnt matter
we were all energized
the house was energized
the electrical system was energized
then it all ended
we sat for a moment
this must be what its like to get shocked by electricity
we looked at each other
oh my i said
that. was. a. half time. show.
then
we finished watching the game
still feeling the electricity inside
the final two quarters im sure was so good because the players felt and heard those two performers energizing the world
it the energy got transferred into the players
good game
great halftime show
oh
we my wife she and i won most of the pot
what a great super bowl night
