whats for lunch mom

WHATS FOR LUNCH MOM

yum
looks like a good ole strawberry soft cream that would
be great on an ice cream cone
wonder if its made from real strawberries

wrong

its pink slime
doenst sound good does it

whats pink slime
its the rejected fat blood left overs sinew left over bits from carcasses
that come from slaughter houses
thought that was what bologna was

all this junk is thrown into a machine spun around and whats left is
this stuff called pink slime

its also treated with ammonia then processed as an additive to
hamburger meat

makes me what a veggie burger

its then used in burgers at restaurants supermarkets and yes even
your kids cafeterias
well many fast food restaurants have quit using this stuff as the
word is out now

why dont they just microvave it and serve it on a cone and call
it hamburger cone like the famous chicken cone sold in austin
well the chicken cone is better and uses good parts of the chicken

whats bad is that even though many restaurants have quit sliming
people the school cafeterias continue to use this stuff

pink slime ingredients are what use to be used to make food for
dogs and cats

maybe serve dog food cereal at school since its probably healthier

its also called mechanically separated meat or boneless beef lean
trimmings
think pink slime or snot or slop is a better word

isnt that what they use to feed pigs in the old days
slop
go slop the hogs billy bob
now
go slime your kids

bet your kids will want to take their lunch to school today
just dont send them with a hamburger thats been slimed

  1. Pink Slime, another word for GREED. Here's a link showing what stores sell meat with pink slime and one that shows those that don't. Thanks for posting this information as I'll bet many people didn't know about it.

  2. I quite eating processed chicken when I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEMbWn6ClxM on TV 4 years ago, but had no idea about the processed beef until yesterday!! I think Ronnie N is right this is Greed, also thank you Ronnie for sharing the links I will be check them out to find out what I won't be buying anymore. It's things like this that makes me want to become a vegetarian but my entire family eats mainly meat they consider me a vegetarian because I don't eat as much as they do. I wish companies would bluntly tell you what's in their products: "contains less then 5% real chicken the rest is filer. Oh and we do use chemicals that are hazardous to human health to process this food you are about to ingest!" But why would they do something that will put them out of business?

    1. I was exaggerating when I said less than 5% they it's up to 15% filler they can use but still I don't want any in my food and companies should clearly tell you what you're really eating.

i have a brother that is a full vegetarian now
he has had to stop two cholesterol medications and now has cholesterol numbers better than when he was on his medications
he also had to stop his powerful blood pressure medication
his blood pressure is now the lowest its been even when he was on medication
what if a child did that all his or her life
what better health would they be in

i am not a vegetarian but could easily be one
i feel like that if you eat fresh vegetables and meats that come from the farm without the processing then its healthy
the problem is not everyone can afford to do this
i do wonder what the cumulative effect of all this stuff in so many foods over a long period has on us especially the rapid growing child

    3. That's great news about your brother!!

if you can grow your own fruit and veggies for the most part you're actually saving quite a bit of money! and buying your meat from a farm is a lot more money at once but it works out to being cheaper in the long run, I was looking into this just the other day and the local farm here charges 1.75 + packaging cost. Not only that but if you're lowering your cholesterol, blood pressure, and chance of cancer...you're saving money in the long run too!

  3. Hi, Dr. Nash -- I follow your blog via Google Reader but came "here" to hang out this evening. You've put together, cobbled together, a nice document of what you do and think about, all of which explains much of who you are. I love it. What I really like, though? You make me laugh -- which is something I confess was unexpected. So carry on -- in good health, and for a long time -- and thank you!

P.S. I resolved to leave a comment at the end of your latest post. Unfortunately, that turned out to be about pink slime and now I need a Zofran.
