the week that is

THE WEEK THAT IS
when you think of retirement you think of sitting in your
easy chair reading sipping coffee in the morning
and maybe
sipping a brew in the evening
well i do both but in between those two i stay busy

if you are a man and you retire first
man ole man your life will change
you had better become more of a housewife than you have
been before or you will be in trouble
big trouble

so i now have the housework responsibility
went to school for 24 years to reach this point in my life

so i applied my science and medical skills to this new
job requirement
now if i dont do all this my wife she would probably
never ever say anything to me
but
boy  would i suffer a lot if i didnt
so
i decided not to see what life would be like if i didnt

so back to my organized ocdness that bode me well in
my medical career

so i now have a routine that i follow
that is not too overwhelming
at first i tried to do everything all in one day
that made for a long long day

now granted we have no kids at home
its just the two of us
so its not really like being a housewife stay at home
or worse one who works and has all the housewife duties

i frequently tell my wife
how can the two of us get this house so dirty
how did you do this when you were working

back to my routine
so i figured out a schedule so i only used less than 1 hour
a day to cleaning cooking etc
Image result for saltillo tile
so
i vacuum upstairs one day then downstairs the next
also downstairs includes sweeping and mopping saltillo floors
then
i clean upstairs bathroom another day and downstairs bathroom
another day
then
i do a load of laundry a day until its all caught up
then
i keep the dishes washed every day
i cook meals after my afternoon nap
planning meals so we can have left overs

i throw in dusting window cleaning etc as i see it needs to be done
of course i have real bad vision

now granted im not dealing with kiddos all day
so like i wrote above
its not like really being a real stay at home housewife

i do the shopping at 6am on sunday morning
im back home before my wife she gets up

i do all the bill paying but its all done on the computer
and most is automatically done

so this is my system that has boded us well the last four
years
so come to our house and its usually clean

then
i throw in the outside care mowing weedeating gardening
animal care
and
yes i stay busy but not overwhelming so

but
i have time for all my other activities like blogging
meals on wheels habitat for humanity alzheimers talks
alzheimers research study alzheimers assocaitons walks to
end alzheimers etc

so i am officially
a real housewife of the country n locale
no reality show will be created im sure
but
look for a short alzheimers video coming your way soon

  1. TOGD, Yes it is amazing how two people can make a house dirty, but remember, we are in Texas, and those winds and dust make up for most of the dirt, hopefully you are returning that dirt back outside?! Glad to hear you are leveling out all the chores, it is tough, even with us working, it is a constant thing to keep the apartment organized, and dust reduced. Keep smiling, it will make people wonder!
