dont mess with bill

DONT MESS WITH BILL
thats the name of a song by the marvelletes released in
1992

but today i started singing it this morning
watched the video of it
after
i awoke and looked at the weather

it seems that the storm brewing in the gulf
has intensified enough to get its name
bill

thus dont mess with bill
will be my motto today and tomorrow

Image result for path of tropical storm bill kvue
kvue.com

it seems according to the newscast that bill is heading
straight towards austin
heck they even said it would intensify as it went over
land
something about the brown effect
which is caused by all the moisture in the ground now

heck last month this area got a whole years worth of
rain
the grounds still wet
ponds or around here they call them tanks
are full to the brim
having being dry for several years
and
creeks and streams that have been dry have been flowing
now for weeks

all my rainwater tanks are full
all this rain will just overflow everywhere
however
it will all stay on my property as i have built swells
and ridges to hold in the water
as well as let my pastures overgrow
which holds the water
letting none of my water get down to the river
thats all part of rainwater harvesting

the lake that services austin and surrounding cities is
80% full
which is the normal for this time of year
it was 30% full a month ago
that folks is a lot of water

the worst flooding ever seen in this area is when a tropical
storm hit the austin area in the summer
in 2010 16 inches was dumped around here

at the country n once we got 10 inches in a few hours
the river nearby sounded like a huge train or jet engine
this will be repeated today
the difference is that the ground all around this area
is saturated with very little room for absorption
thus flooding is expected

we expect here at the county n to be flooded in as
ole bill passes its eye almost directly over our house
sometime around 700pm

im sure my wife she will be in our brick shower as
the storm comes through with its wind and rain and
possible tornadoes

so we aint goin to
mess with bill

we will be homebound
hunkered down
singing that song

oh dont mess with bill

dont drown turn around please
