its that day every day

ITS THAT DAY EVERY DAY

that day
earth day
it should be every day
earth day
why
i want earth to be here for them like it is now when they get my age
an earth that they are able to enjoy as we do today
if
we dont take care of it
they wont get to continue to enjoy it

fast forward 65-68 years
what will the earth be like for ms b and mr hudson and mr n
will it be as we are enjoying it today

only if we take care of it
not just once a year on the official earth day
but
treat each day as an earth day
ie
do your earth day thing every day not just on earth day

in a local news article a local ship captain wrote on this linked here
thats what he wrote
every day is earth day
if someone throws trash overboard he stops and circles back and picks up the trash

look at that picture above
in 65 years
will they be able to be out in the sun or will it be too hot
or
will it be too cold
will there be enough water to play with like they are doing in that picture
will there be swimming pools
will they have to wear not just regular masks but gas mask to be outside
will the ocean and the lakes be too polluted to swim in

will their grandkids be able to play like they are in that picture

the answer to that one is up to those of you who can read this

we need to approach it on an every day approach

if you are fishing at your lake or the ocean or stream pick up trash you see
dont contribute to the pollution of these waterways
recycle as much as you can that can be recycled
eg we recycle everything thats accepted
we reuse bread bags
we reuse ziplock bags
we avoid plastic bags and vegetable bags if possible
we use reusable shopping bags
i know a lot of this is woke stuff
but this is good woke stuff to be doing
we limit our water use
eg in my garden i use a dripper system and water once a week
i also do underground watering with pots and 3 inch pvc pipes
i do this once a week during our dry season which runs from march to october
we all need to relook at maybe changing to electric cars when they become available
the availability will be much better in the future
we make most of our meals from scratch and use a lot of produce from our garden
we make our own compost in our garden
we let no vegetable matter go to the landfill
we tend to get a lot of secondhand clothes and furniture etc
we and you could probably do even more
we at the country n when we lived there produced one tiny bag of trash a week
the rest went to the recycle place
the kitchen waste got eaten by our chickens
we grew a lot of our own veggies
we collected rainwater for all our water needs
we used solar power for most electric needs
we used most of our graywater for irrigation

so
theres a lot we can all do and a lot more we could do
to make this earth
a better one
so
my grandkids and your grandkids and their grandkids can enjoy it too
